VBS Follow-up Meeting Minutes

Gratitude

  1. Cluster VBS included churches from Caribou and Patten (traveling from far away)
  2. Location: Cynthia and Jack graciously opened their camp
  3. Organization: Very well planned and coordinated
  4. The puppet show was excellent
  5. Singing was uplifting
  6. Lunch and snacks were wonderful
  7. The program flow went smoothly
  8. The weather was perfect
  9. Art activities were creative and engaging
  10. Group games, games, and water fun were fun

Suggestions for Next Year

  1. Begin with an icebreaker game to help everyone get to know each other
  2. Consider balancing water activities with other activities
  3. Date/Time: Try holding VBS in July (before Pioneer Week in the first week in Patten and school starts in Caribou and Washburn). Suggested time: 10:00 am – 2:30 pm, which works well for traveling churches. Set the date with cluster members before May.
  4. Location: Waivers for camp should be submitted at least 10 days before VBS. If that’s not possible, consider holding it at Houlton UMC.
  5. Plan for an offering ahead of time
  6. Some churches could not join due to not having children this year, but they can still join to learn how to start a children’s program.
