VBS Follow-up Meeting Minutes
Gratitude
- Cluster VBS included churches from Caribou and Patten (traveling from far away)
- Location: Cynthia and Jack graciously opened their camp
- Organization: Very well planned and coordinated
- The puppet show was excellent
- Singing was uplifting
- Lunch and snacks were wonderful
- The program flow went smoothly
- The weather was perfect
- Art activities were creative and engaging
- Group games, games, and water fun were fun
Suggestions for Next Year
- Begin with an icebreaker game to help everyone get to know each other
- Consider balancing water activities with other activities
- Date/Time: Try holding VBS in July (before Pioneer Week in the first week in Patten and school starts in Caribou and Washburn). Suggested time: 10:00 am – 2:30 pm, which works well for traveling churches. Set the date with cluster members before May.
- Location: Waivers for camp should be submitted at least 10 days before VBS. If that’s not possible, consider holding it at Houlton UMC.
- Plan for an offering ahead of time
- Some churches could not join due to not having children this year, but they can still join to learn how to start a children’s program.
