Laos Sunday School Mission
Dear friends of the Aroostook Cluster,
Greetings from Laos! We are so grateful for your prayers and partnership. Knowing that we are supported by your love and faith gives us the strength to serve here each day.
The religious landscape in our country is unique. We are part of an unregistered denomination and must be very careful in our ministry. Most of the over 60 churches here are small house churches, and in many of them, the children have no dedicated space or teachers for Sunday school.
Our team has a clear plan to address this. This year, we are creating our own Sunday school curriculum and running a pilot program in three of our city churches. Our hope is that by next year, we will begin training local teachers and helping rural churches set up their own Sunday school programs from the ground up, providing them with the basic supplies they need.
The overall educational environment here is very poor, but we know our God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. We ask for your prayers for this vital work.
Prayer Requests
Please pray for us and the people of Laos:
For the safety of our unregistered churches and for their wisdom in navigating the restrictions placed on them.
For the children, that they may have safe spaces to learn and grow in their faith.
For our team, as we develop curriculum and begin training local teachers.
For the necessary resources, like tables and basic supplies, to equip these new Sunday schools.
Thank you for your faithfulness to God's mission. We are humbled to be sent out by a family of faith like yours.
In His Grace,
Your missionaries in Laos
