🎢 Yesterday we had many things to celebrate!

1. Choir & Pick-up Choir
We are grateful for our choir and the pick-up choir last Sunday!

  • The choir sang the Hymn of Praise.

  • Pick-up choir will sing the opening and closing hymns in front of the congregation.
    All are welcome to join!

2. Sermon
Our “A New Journey” series is wrapping up this August.
Next, we will begin a new two-month series called “My Psalm.”

3. Penny’s Preaching in Hodgdon UMC

We heard that all services went very well, including Delila’s special music!
Thank you, Penny, for preaching in Hodgdon—you are a blessing to us and to all our churches.

4. Roberta Finnemore’s Testimony
Yesterday, Roberta and her friend Sharon came to church from Gardiner Nursing Home.

5. Newcomers and Visitors
God continues to send new people each week!

  • We welcomed Kaiden, Barbara Porter’s great-grandson.

  • Special thanks to Audrey for bringing her children and helping with Sunday School along with Crissy and Mary.



6. Baby Grand Piano Dedication Concert
Thank you for coming to Grace’s first piano concert in Houlton yesterday.
A big thanks to Angell Husted for donating a baby grand piano to Houlton UMC!
Thank you also to Susan, Chet, and Grace for sharing your gifts with us.

  • August 31 (Sunday, 10:00 am): Combined Service with Houlton, Hodgdon, and Mars Hill UMC at Patten. Potluck luncheon to follow.

  • September 6 (Saturday, 1:00–3:00 pm): Church Conference at Houlton UMC.

  • Weekly Communication Group: email, text, or Facebook.

  • Home Communion begins after September 7, 2026.

  • Volunteers needed: Children’s Ministry, Children’s Message, and Offertory Prayer.

  • Family Worship: October 12, 2025 (every second Sunday).

  • Pray for children, teachers, volunteers, parents, and grandparents to have a blessed school year. May God guide them with joy, wisdom, and courage!

  • This week there are many children’s programs in town and church, including the Pageant. Pray that they will be meaningful and full of God’s joy!

If you had told me just a few months ago that I'd be standing here, actively participating in church, perhaps even joining in church karaoke, I might not have believed you! For years, I would have found every excuse not to attend. I always felt a quiet tugging at my heart, a sense that there was something more, but I constantly ignored it. Sometimes it was because I didn't feel like I fit in, or I was simply embarrassed to admit how I truly felt. But today, with a humble heart, I share that I am genuinely embracing this journey. The First Week of August

The First Combined Women's Retreat in Houlton, Hodgdon, Mars Hill, & Patten UMC    Peace be with you all! God is good! All the time! United in the Spirit I can't believe it, but last Sunday, all four of our churches read Psalm 121, and the three pastors didn't even coordinate with each other! Victor and I didn't even know we were using the same sermon picture. It's truly amazing—we are all united in one Spirit! I believe there is a reason for the Han family to be serving four churches while our denomination and the New England conference are pursuing a "Cooperative Ministry." Aroostook County has so many strengths that support this ministry. We are all connected, and we need each other! Administrative Meeting & Combined Service Last Sunday, our Administrative Council met (minutes are attached).
