Petten Shine Weekly: Thank you, my loving church!!

Dear church family,

Last Sunday, after returning home, I opened your heartfelt cards and beautiful gifts. Looking at my profile picture taken in front of the church when I was first appointed, the photograph of our church adorned with a rainbow, the journal with "Pastor Joyce" written on it, the hand-crafted spatulas, the lovely prayer shawl, the gorgeous flowers, the delicious bread, and the handwritten letters that spanned several pages—I could not stop my tears from flowing.

I thought to myself: If leaving is this incredibly difficult for me, how much more painful must it be for those who are sending us off? My heart deeply aches with yours. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for completely filling my love tank, providing me with enough spiritual nourishment to sustain my lifelong ministry.

As your first-time senior pastor, I know I have many shortcomings and areas of weakness, but you always looked at me with eyes of grace, choosing to see only the best in me. I am leaving with so much of your boundless love.

Just like the "Forget-Me-Not" flowers given to me by Amelia Inara, I will never, ever forget you for the rest of my life. I will forever remember and pray for my beloved Stetson Memorial UMC family, who constantly encouraged, supported, and cheered me on with love and prayers so that I could grow into a true pastor.

Although I cannot personally visit each and every one of you, I would love for those who are available to join us for our Prayer Meeting tomorrow at 11:30 AM. Please come so we can share our prayer requests and lift them up together. There will be time for anointing oils.

Additionally, on May 31st, we will gather in front of the church at 8:45 AM to carpool together for our Combined Service at 10:00 AM in Houlton. It will be a beautiful and precious service filled with abundant music and moving testimonies, followed by a wonderful time of fellowship over a delicious potluck lunch. I truly hope we can all share this meaningful time together.

I love you all dearly.
